Adochi

Biography

Born Heinz Georg Adochi 1954 in Romania
1977-84 Studied painting with Wolfang Petrick and sculpture with Michael Schoenholtz at the Berlin University of the Arts
1984 First Solo Exhibition at Galerie Georg Nothelfer
1981-99 Numerous scholarships at home and abroad, including at the Villa Romana in Florence
Adochi lives and works in Cologne, Germany, and Monte a Precia, Italy

Adochi's works are interested in the fleetingness of the moment. In his paintings, the artist creates colour surfaces with suction power, which is created by applying the paint in layers. Everything moves, nothing is definite, nothing tangible. Only the graphic forms or the arrangement of circles withstand this maelstrom, this suction.
