At the upcoming Art Cologne, Galerie Georg Nothelfer is pleased to put artist positions of abstract post-war art in dialogue with young artists. Important works of the "Informel" and the scriptural and gestural painting meet contemporary positions, which - consciously or unconsciously - deal with the legacy of the abstract Post War. The aim of the show is to explore continuities and ruptures, similarities and differences between the generations: How do (gender) identities conceive themselves then and now in the focus of social change? Which narratives do the artists of the Informel follow in contrast to artists of the present? How do concepts such as "freedom" and "control" define themselves then and now? What influence does the postwar period have on the choice of a material today?
For the first time at this edition of Art Cologne, Galerie Georg Nothelfer will participate with a NEW POSITIONS promotional booth. We are happy to announce that the artist collective Pegasus Product has been accepted for the bunk. In a separate press release you will find more info about the project.
